John Julian recently shared his
thoughts on Lola's Story in the Legend of the Dark Cavern:
"This is quite a lavishly
illustrated book, printed in full colour. I loved the characters and the plot
which follows on from the previous 'Lola's Story'. It's a short book (74 pages)
but the action moves quickly through imaginative encounters with dark forces
bent on destroying our world. Lola, a young kitten, once again is at the centre
of the story. She leads a trusted gang of friends who together take part in a
race against time to find and destroy the evil Stone of Certainty. It was a joy
to read and has a happy ending."
Reading John’s review is incredibly encouraging and
rewarding. One of my goals for Lola's Story in the Legend of the Dark
Cavern was to create an adventure that would capture readers’ imaginations
while celebrating the power of friendship, courage, and teamwork. Knowing that
John enjoyed both the characters and the fast paced plot means a great deal to
me. Lola’s journey and her determination to protect the world alongside her
loyal friends are at the heart of the story, so it is wonderful to hear that
these elements resonated with him. I am also delighted that the illustrations
helped bring the adventure to life and added to the overall reading experience.
Thank you, John, for your thoughtful review and for joining Lola on another
exciting journey.
